August 20 Uhr Vortrag Prof. Dr. Eva Sternfeld (Berlin) \u201eWie gr\u00fcn ist Chinas Landwirtschaft ?- Ern\u00e4hrungssicherung und Lebensmittelsicherheit<\/strong>\u201c<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"_4n-j fsl\">Prof. Dr. phil. Eva Sternfeld, Gastprofessorin am Ostasiatischen Seminar der Freien Universit\u00e4t Berlin, ist eine auf Umweltgeschichte, Ressourcen\u00f6konomie und chinesische Umweltpolitik spezialisierte Sinologin.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In China steht im Verh\u00e4ltnis Bev\u00f6lkerungszahl eine relativ begrenzte Fl\u00e4che an nutzbarem Ackerland zur Verf\u00fcgung. Die Gew\u00e4hrleistung der Ern\u00e4hrungssicherheit erforderte in Geschichte und Gegenwart eine \u00e4u\u00dferst intensive Landnutzung. Moderne technische Entwicklungen (Mechanisierung, Biotechnologie, Agrarchemikalien) brachten seit den 1970er Jahren enorme Ertragsteigerungen in der Landwirtschaft.<\/p>\n<p>Doch die sogenannte \u201eGr\u00fcne Revolution\u201c und die Industrialisierung der Landwirtschaft gelangen an ihre Grenzen, die die chinesische F\u00fchrung mit neuen Strategien zu \u00fcberwinden sucht. Der Vortrag thematisiert die Herausforderungen f\u00fcr die chinesische Gesellschaft mit ihren globalen Implikationen und diskutiert Strategien f\u00fcr eine nachhaltigere Landnutzung.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Since over 30 years Eva Sternfeld is involved with research on issues related to environment, urban development and water management in China.<\/strong> She holds a PhD degree from the East-Asian Institute of the Free University of Berlin. From 2000 to April 2008 she has been working with the <em>China Environment and Sustainable Development Reference and Research Center (CESDRRC) in Beijing<\/em>, an environmental information facility set up by the <em>Center for Environmental Education and Communication (CEEC)<\/em> of the <em>State Environmental Protection Administration (SEPA<\/em>). Since August 2008, she is assistant professor at <em>Technical University of Berlin<\/em> where she is directing the university\u2019s <em>Center for Cultural Studies on Science and Technology<\/em> in China at the Technische Universit\u00e4t Berlin.
